Meet the Woodchucks Family

Doug and TaraHi, I'm Doug Correia, President of Woodchuck's Furniture & Clock Gallery. Almost 30 years ago, my father started Woodchuck's as a furniture restoration company in Orange Park. It didn't start as a dream or a vision as some companies do, just as a way to feed his family. Over the years, God has blessed our family and business through many ups and downs of life. Dad's hard work and dedication to his customers in time evolved into selling new furniture and home decor items in 1993.

That is when I came to work for Woodchuck's in an official capacity. I was a true "Jack-of-all-trades", working every job from sales to unloading trucks to paying bills. It didn't take long to realize that my love for quality furniture, joy of working with the best co-workers and desire to serve our customers would be a lifelong passion. Over the past sixteen years, it has been my pleasure to work with some of the best customers, suppliers and co-workers one could ever ask for in life. This is a people business and I truly love it. At Woodchuck's, we love each other, our customers and our suppliers, too.

Shortly after joining Woodchuck's, I would marry the love of my life - Tara. It took a while to convince her to come work with me, but eventually she gave in. Today, Tara is our Controller and HR Specialist. Soon after, we had our first child, a sweet and loving son named Ashton. Since then we have also been blessed with a bright and beautiful daughter, Lauren.

I look forward to many more years serving North Florida area families and continuing to earn your trust and patronage. It is truly my pleasure to be your choice for quality home furnishings and decor. I am honored that you would make Woodchuck's a part of your home.

Brad RadoMy name is Brad Rado and I joined the Woodchuck's family in 1998. I am fortunate to have held almost every position here from salesman, sales / service manager, to my current position which is furniture buyer and store manager. My approach has always been to treat my customers like I would want to be treated, and to not only sell them something once, but to make them a repeat customer. This is not a stepping stone job for me and I plan on being here for the rest of my career. I truly love my job, and I am proud to work for a Christian company that has such strong principles and values. I look forward to the opportunity to serve you, and please don't hesitate to ask for me if I can help you in any way.

John ChurchMy name is John Church. I am the newest member of the Woodchuck's Management Team. I became a part of the team in August of 2007. I've lived in the Jacksonville area all of my life and was a Woodchuck's customer for 10 years before coming to work here. I know first-hand the quality of merchandise and service Woodchuck's provides to it's customers. As the Warehouse Manager, I am responsible for product receiving and storage, inventory control, warehouse maintenance and delivery services. I enjoy working for Woodchuck's Furniture because of its Christian environment. In addition to working with the great staff here, I also enjoy meeting and working for all our customers. I look forward to serving you here at Woodchuck's.

Margie MomineeI am Margie Mominee. September 1, 2009 was my 15th anniversary with Woodchuck's Furniture. I currently divide my time between the administrative office and the receiving departments. I am also the voice of the "Delivery Confirmation" calls to verify your delivery date and time. I enjoy hearing the excitement in your voices as you anticipate the delivery of your new furnishings for your home. Over the years I have experienced first hand the growing pains, uncertainties and hard work it has taken to develop Woodchuck's Furniture into the fine furniture gallery it is today. We continue to strive to make Woodchuck's Furniture your choice in helping you to make your house your home.

Vickie LeeseMy name is Vickie Leese and I am currently the Sales Manager. I have been with Woodchucks 9 years. Time has flown by. I first started out at the Orange Park location as a sales associate and only wanted to work part time. It wasn't long though that it became very obvious that Woodchucks was going to become more than just a place you clocked in and out and get out of the house a few hours a week. It gets in your blood. It becomes a part of you. The next thing you know years have passed and you can't imagine your life without it. I love Woodchucks. I love the values and hard work it was built upon and still applies today. Every customer that walks thru the door is never taken for granted. The people I work beside everyday are more like family than co-workers. Even our customers when they walk in the door feel like family to me coming in for a visit. So many have shopped with us for years and we know them and their families. My husband also works for Woodchucks as a service tech. We both love our jobs and thank God every day for bringing us to Woodchucks and in a place where we can look forward to coming every day.

Becky SextonI am Becky Sexton, the Office Manager at Woodchuck's Furniture and Clock Gallery. I have 20 years of experience working in the furniture industry. I worked directly with furniture manufacturers for the first 15 years of my career and then joined the Woodchuck's Furniture family in August 2005. I work closely with every team at Woodchuck's, as well as our vendors, to insure order accuracy, tracking and receiving of your new furniture. My team also provides warranty or delivery related service assistance. Everyone at Woodchuck's Furniture strives to offer and provide the very best in quality service, product knowledge and customer satisfaction for your shopping and purchasing experience. I am committed to earning and receiving your trust, your loyalty and your referrals to friends and acquaintances for Woodchuck's Furniture and Clock Gallery by handling the details of your purchase from beginning to end.

Janelle StallingsMy name is Jenelle Stallings. It has been a pleasure to work for Woodchuck's since 1997. The Correia Family and the entire Woodchuck's Family has always cared for me and my family and for that I am truly grateful. I appreciate getting to know our friendly, loyal customers as well as meeting new customers every day. It is a delight to answer the phones, help customers find the perfect accessory or gift, and ring out the items our customers have decided to purchase. I also assist in pricing new merchandise and prepare it to be displayed on our showroom floor. It is always nice to see when our beautiful and unique items put a smile on our customer's face. I have enjoyed helping our customers for years and I look forward to many more years to come.

Cathy CollinsMy name is Cathy Collins and I've been here at Woodchucks Furniture for 4 years, before that I was at another furniture store for 8 years. At Woodchucks I do everything from helping customers with their furniture selection, merchandising the table tops to cleaning the bathrooms. Every day brings a new challenge which I truly enjoy. I especially love helping customers find the perfect fabric for their upholstered furniture and the perfect piece to finish their room. It's like a treasure hunt for me. I am originally from Long Island, N.Y. I have been in Jacksonville for 12 years.

Dick SlowinskiMy name is Dick Slowinski and I have been the Clockmaster for Woodchucks since the mid 1980's. I actually witnessed the Orange Park Store being built and remember when it opened as the Woodchucks Furniture Stripping and Refinishing. I had met the owner a few years prior and a great relationship began. Richard Correia always seemed to have a clock or knew a customer who needed a clock repair.

My experience dates back to 1956 when at age 15 I actually repaired my first clock or at least the clock I received was not working and I managed to get it to work. I still have that very clock today.

And after all these years I still love my job and especially enjoy delivering a newly purchased grandfather clock from Woodchucks to the customers home and begin a relationship that lasts for years to come. I still do repairs on a number of different floor, wall and mantel clocks. Please stop in and ask for Dick "The Clock Man" if you ever need your clock worked on! My work bench is in the back section of the store. Stop in and just talk about clocks!

Ann WheelerMy name is Ann Wheeler. In September of 2001 I walked into Woodchuck's Furniture Store, Orange Park, for the first time. As I opened the front door I noticed a sign advertising part-time help needed. I went into the store to do some shopping and I left with an application in hand and within 3 weeks I was hired. My first position was a cashier and assisting the customers. After 3 ½ years I was promoted (ha) to a Sales Associate and have been in that position now for 4 years. It has been a learning experience for me which I have thoroughly enjoyed. I work with the best employer who loves what he does and loves his staff. The best thing about the job is working with customers who appreciate what we do as a Furniture Store. What a blessing it is when someone thanks me for a job well done – that really makes my day!!

Chris ErvieMy name is Chris Ervie and I am the Service Tech for Woodchucks. I started in 1993 doing repairs and driving the delivery truck. Now I focus most of my time on service issues that may arise in and out of the store. If ever a problem were to arise I would be the guy that come to your home to make sure your furniture is taken care of. But still whenever the need arises I fill in wherever I am needed whether it be in delivery or helping unload and load trucks.
